So glad you found us, and most likely a warm congratulations on your pregnancy! It is exciting how the body changes, but also unfamiliar. That is exactly why Pregwear exists: to help expectant mothers find maternity clothes more easily.
Who are we behind Pregwear?
My name is Elina (mom and founder), and together with my husband Kevin (dad and developer) we run Pregwear. Kevin takes care of everything technical on the site, while I create the content and share my own experiences, tips, and advice from my pregnancy.
When my pregnancy began – and my clothes stopped fitting
I remember so clearly when I became pregnant in 2024. At first, it felt like… nothing. I could not take it in; my body looked exactly the same, I slept at least 14 hours a day, and everything else was business as usual. But pretty quickly my body started changing and suddenly my regular clothes did not fit anymore. I have always cared about what I wear, but I had never reflected on how much it actually matters to me. During pregnancy I was forced into a style I did not love – and sometimes I even felt uncomfortable. No mom should have to feel that way, no matter the week of pregnancy. That is where the idea for Pregwear was born.
Why Pregwear?
I wanted to help other moms who, just like me and my pregnant friends, were tired of searching for stylish and comfortable maternity clothes. I am not a designer or fashion expert, but I can help you find the clothes you are looking for, faster and more easily. Pregwear gathers maternity clothes in one place so you do not have to spend time and energy hunting through stores and websites.
How our idea was born – in the middle of parental leave
Ever since I met my husband Kevin (2015) I have pitched app ideas to him (he is a programmer) and always been politely (or not so politely) turned down… until this one. When we started talking about the problem I had – and that almost every expectant mom I know has had – Kevin was interested for the first time. So during parental leave (when we were not just surviving) we started building Pregwear, and about a year after my daughter was born, the website was born too.
I am no expert – but I want to help you
I have only been pregnant once, and I am absolutely not a maternity fashion expert. But I know how hard it can be to find maternity clothes that make you feel beautiful and comfortable. That is why I hope that with Pregwear and the tips I share here, your journey can be a little more focused on the pregnancy itself, and that you can feel a bit more like yourself.
